The Tourism Business Council of South Africa (TBCSA) is calling on the eThekwini Municipality and marketing bodies in KwaZulu-Natal to make more money available to market Durban as an attractive tourist destination. This comes after the COVID-19 pandemic, the July 2021 unrest and the recent devastating floods dealt a severe blow to the city’s economy.Today marks the final day of the Indaba which is currently underway at the Durban International Convention Centre. The conference has returned following a two year break as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, with a staggering 45000 delegates from across the continent. Udo Carelse spoke to CEO of the Tourism Business Council of SA, Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa.
