THIS TRAVEL & TOURISM WEEK

For the week ending 25 June 2018

Dear Members and Colleagues

Welcome to our latest edition of our Weekly newsletter.  Reflecting on the past week, it is worth first mentioning the encouraging outcome of the latest ratings decision by Fitch Ratings on our economy. The credit ratings agency scored South Africa with a BB+, effectively maintaining a stable outlook.  Read more about this in our stakeholder feature.

In terms of member news, we are excited to see our members embracing technology and congratulate the South Africa Travel Services Association (SATSA) on the launch of its mobile app.  Still on member news, you are reminded to attend to key events in this week and next week – our TBCSA and TOMSA Annual General Meetings taking place tomorrow.  As well as the final leg of the TOMSA feedback sessions scheduled for Monday 25 June.

We end off this weekly update with a brief focus on news on the local tourism landscape with a feature of news from the Limpopo and Western Cape provinces.
