SCAM WARNING: NDT URGE INDUSTRY THAT EMAIL SCAM INVOLVING MINISTER IS FAKE
The National Department of Tourism (NDT) has issued a warning to the travel and tourism industry to be aware of a recent fake email scam purporting to be from the Tourism Minister, Tokozile Xasa. The modus operandi of the scam is that the claimed “Minister” encourages organisations to participate and benefit from a $50bn fund allocated by the BRICS Bank for agriculture development projects. The recipient is prompted to provide their details in order to be added onto the fictitious “Minister’s” beneficiary list to access $1bn. The email address Toxozilexasa@alumni.com has so far been associated with this scam.
If you have received the above email scam or a similar one, please forward and report it to our TSI Manager on Tebogo@tbcsa.travel
