SA ON HIGH ALERT AFTER EBOLA OUTBREAK IN DR CONGO
The Department of Health has issued a statement that it is on high alert following the reported outbreak of the Ebola virus in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As yet, no travel restrictions have been put in place and the South African Port Health authorities continue to screen travellers entering the country from the DRC.

Given the recent historical events surrounding this issue, the TBCSA will be noting developments in this regard closely, liaising with our stakeholders within the Deparment of Health, the Institute for Communicable Diseases and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the messaging and communication is well managed.
