PRESS RELEASE: TBCSA WELCOMES ACSA MEASURES TO HEIGHTEN AIRPORT SECURITY
Following worrying news of an armed robbery in the restricted cargo section at ORTIA on Tuesday 07 March, we issued a statement welcoming the measures announced by ACSA and SAPS. In our statement we also expressed our appreciation with the swift pace at which the authorities have moved to investigate the robbery. Click here to view the statement.

Through the Tourism Safety Initiative, we have been working closely with industry-role players around the ORTIA precinct to address issues of safety and security affecting tourists and tourism businesses.

From a destination reputation perspective, the news of the heist has cast a shadow of doubt on the level of security at our airports. Given the pivotal role that ORTIA plays as an important regional (and international) airline and tourism hub, it is incumbent for all of us to be more vigilant and protect the people going through this important hub and visiting the country.
