WHATS YOUR TAKE? NATIONAL MINIMUM WAGE TAKES CENTRE STAGE

As has been reported, agreement between social partners on the NMW and on the Labour Relations Stability Accord has been signed. This includes a declaration on the NMW (R3500 / R20 per hour) and an Accord that aims to improve relations in the labour environment.

The new benchmark figure is also intended to minimize any negative effect on small and emerging businesses as exemptions, tax incentives and expanded support for SMMEs will be put in place. We will share texts on these Agreements with you as soon as they become available

How will the NMW impact your business?
As per discussions on the NMW at our Knowledge & Research TBCSA sub-committee meeting, we invite you to send us your views on the likely impact of NMW on your business or that of your members. We will be consolidating all member feedback to develop a TBCSA position on this matter which will be taken forward to the National Minister of Tourism.  – send your input Tebogo Umanah on tebobo@tbcsa.travel no later than Friday, 17 February.
