Ramwela, Duminy to join SA Tourism board
Enver Duminy, CEO of Cape Town Tourism, has received an invitation from Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom, to join the South African Tourism board.
Duminy has been CEO at Cape Town Tourism since 2013. His current focus is to work alongside his team and the stakeholders of Cape Town Tourism, to find ways to address seasonality in the city by combining innovation and agility. Mmatšatši Ramawela, CEO, Tourism Business Council of South Africa, will also be joining the SA Tourism board. Ramawela’s career in South Africa’s travel and tourism industry spans more than 20 years.
“It is a privilege to be chosen to serve on the SA Tourism board with the Minister and team at this time, when tourism is increasingly dominant in driving economic growth and transformation in South Africa,” said Duminy. “I believe that the industry has enormous potential to reach a wider global audience of potential visitors and that, with strategic partnerships, we can maximise this for the benefit of more South Africans.”
South African Tourism extended its congratulations to the new members and wished them all the best in their new positions.
